2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV

Performance

The 2025 Equinox EV’s current front-wheel drive configuration offers 220 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. Chevy equipped the SUV with a standard one-pedal driving mode, which allows the driver to stop the vehicle by lifting off the accelerator. There’s a bit of a learning curve with one-pedal systems, but using them can significantly improve brake life, as the electric motor slows the vehicle instead of brake pads and rotors and also works to regenerate the battery.   

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV with front-wheel drive can drive on a full battery for up to 319 miles of estimated range. The LT model has 11.5-kW Level 2 charging, which can recover 34 miles of range per hour, and it can use DC fast charging at up to 150 kW. The 2025 Equinox EV can add 70 miles of range in around 10 minutes on the more rapid charger. A 19.2-kW Level 2 charging system is available for the RS trim, which can add 51 miles of range per hour.  

Available later in the 2025 model year, the all-wheel drive system will deliver an estimated 285 miles of range from a two-motor Ultium drive system. The system should put down 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. 

Exterior

The 2025 Equinox EV’s design is inspired by its gas-powered counterpart and has much of the same vibe. There are notable differences between the two, especially when it comes to exterior dimensions. Chevrolet hasn’t detailed all exterior specifications, but in an early announcement for the EV, executives said that the new model has a nine-inch longer wheelbase and is seven inches longer than the gas model overall. It’s also around three inches wider but shrunk about an inch in height.     

Chevrolet equips the 2025 Equinox EV LT with 21-inch wheels as standard. The LT trim is available with a two-tone paint job and a white roof, while the RS trims are available with a black roof. Some models also have animated approach and departure lighting features. 

Interior

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV seats five people and offers several upscale features. Ambient LED lighting is available, and the LT model has heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a heated windshield wiper feature. An eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard, and Chevy offers two interior color schemes for the LT trim, including black with blue accents or a light gray theme. The RS trim is available with sporty black and red interior colors, and buyers can opt for a full-on red interior theme.  

Cargo space is generous, with 26.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats. With those seats folded down, you get a maximum of 57.2 cubic feet. The cargo floor is also adjustable for height so that you can bring taller items home from the store.

Technology

Chevrolet equips the 2025 Equinox EV with an 11-inch digital gauge cluster. Higher trims are available with a massive 17.7-inch display. The system is powered by Google Built-in, which brings a range of advanced features, including voice controls, Google Play Store functions, Maps, and more.   

As with all Chevrolet models, you can add an OnStar subscription that connects your 2025 Equinox EV to emergency assistance, from accident reporting to roadside assistance.  

Owners of the 2025 Equinox EV can access the MyChevy app, which offers charger location features, remote vehicle information on the state of charge, and other data. The EV also has access to GM’s Ultium Charge 360 service, which includes more than 110,000 public chargers in the U.S. and Canada.   

Safety and Driver Assistance

All Equinox EV models come standard with Chevy Safety Assist, which brings automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, forward collision alerts, following distance indicators, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, and lane departure warnings. It also comes standard with blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, reverse automatic braking, rear parking sensors, and a safety alert seat system that vibrates when a warning is needed.
